Uncharted set photos feature Tom Holland & Mark Wahlberg
As production continues on Uncharted in Berlin, the behind-the-scenes photos from the group of Sony Pictures’ long-awaited film adaptation have surfaced online (via ), providing us with this first look at lead stars Tom Mark and Holland Wahlberg, that are both sporting an extremely dapper look. For this reason, fans have already been speculating that the film might include among the storylines from the video game’s fourth installment where Drake and Sully attend a black tie auction event. Set to be directed by Zombieland and Venom director , is a prequel to the overall game series, taking its basis from the sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception wherein the young thief Nathan Drake (Holland) first encounters his partner Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) and essentially, creates the events of the complete game franchise.
Joining Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are Academy Award-nominated actor Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro, Pain and Glory), Grey’s Anatomy actress Sophia Ali and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Tati Gabrielle.
Based on the action-adventure gaming Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune from Naughty Dog and , the complete story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes the whereabouts has been learned by him of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from the cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive whenever a rival hunter joins the fray, then is escalated when creatures – actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis – begin attacking those hoping to understand the treasure’s true secrets.
Uncharted can be an Arad/Atlas Entertainment Production, with Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad producing. The film shall serve because the first feature made by PlayStation Productions.
Despite previous drafts by famous brands Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty), Oscar nominee David O. Russell, ‘s Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, Safe House‘s David Guggenheim, and Joe Carnahan, the brand new draft of the screenplay is compiled by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway.
Travis Knight became the sixth director to leave the project in its decade-long development cycle which began with Russell mounted on direct accompanied by Neil Burger (Limitless), Seth Gordon (Baywatch), Shawn Levy (Free Guy), and Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane).
