Jordan Vogt-Roberts to Helm Netflix’s Live-Action Gundam Movie

Vogt-Roberts has officially signed on to direct the studio’s first-ever live-action feature film version of Gundam for Netflix, which will be based on the universe of Sunrise’s iconic Japanese robot franchise.This marks Legendary and Netflix’s latest collaboration together, the two companies previously worked on films such as 2016’s Spectral and last year’s Enola Holmes as well as shows like Lost in Space and Pacific Rim: The Black. They are also currently working on the anime series adaptation of Skull Island and Tom Raider.RELATED: Netflix’s Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Series Wraps Production!Plot details for the Netflix film are being kept under wraps but the original Gundam series is set in the Universal Century, an era in which humanity’s growing population has led people to emigrate to space colonies. Eventually, the people living in the colonies seek their autonomy and launch a war of independence against the people living on Earth. Through the tragedies and discord arising from this human conflict, not only the maturation of the main character but also the intentions of enemies and the surrounding people are sensitively depicted. The battles in the story, in which the characters pilot robots known as mobile suits, are wildly popular. The Gundam universe is replete with numerous storylines of love and conflict along with the popular Gundam battles, in which the characters operate robot suits called Mobile Suits.The live-action Gundam film will be penned by Brian K Vaughan. It will be produced by Vogt-Roberts with Vaughan set as executive producer. The massively popular Mecha anime and science fiction media franchise is Sunrise’s multi-billion-dollar property that has spawned a multi-platform universe encompassing televised anime, manga, animated films, video games, plastic models, toys, and novels among other media. Gundam continues to dominate Bandai Namco’s earnings almost forty years after its inception.

    Ji-Ah lived with her mother, Hee soon. She trained to be always a nurse to U prior.S. involvement in the Korean War, but all her mother wanted her to spotlight was bringing home men. Ji-Ah loved Judy Garland and watching American movies, but that didn’t appear to impress the men she met while speed dating with her friends. However, her companion, Young-Ja, invited her out with her date. At the dance hall, Ji-Ah met a guy and brought him home. If they had sex, tails originated from her body, and she consumed his soul.

    Soon Hee had asked a mudang to summon a fox spirit in to the body of her daughter kumiho, who died due to her husband, to kill him. The kumiho in Ji-Ah’s body had a need to consume a hundred souls to become human, and Soon Hee believed that she’d have her daughter if she did back.

    Young-Ja seemed to have feelings for the true Ji-Ah. A crowd was watched by them lynch a guy, and Young-Ja villainized the American soldiers who allow it happen. Day one, American soldiers rounded up the nurses from Ji-Ah’s hospital. These were searching for a communist spy included in this. The soldiers had them kneel and started shooting them in the relative head. Young-Ja confessed when it had been Ji-Ah’s turn. Atticus was on the list of soldiers who took Young-Ja away.

    Ji-Ah recognized Atticus as he had been treated in her hospital. She decided he will be her hundredth soul. However, after planning for a romantic date with having a private showing of a Judy Garland movie, Ji-Ah couldn’t proceed through with it. She was told by him he was a virgin, and she was starting to have feelings for him. Ji-Ah told him that she decided to kill him because he previously murdered Young-Ja. That they had sex, however the tails didn’t turn out.

    They spent months together until Atticus informed her he had earned enough points to go back home. However, he could stay, but Ji-Ah didn’t desire to ask him to achieve that. She tried to inform him the reality about herself. Unfortunately, if they had sex, her tails out came, but Atticus survived. Ji-Ah saw he would die and tried to warn him, but he away ran, not understanding what had happened just. Ji-Ah was heartbroken, and Hee comforted her Soon.

    Soon Ji-Ah and Hee visited the mudang. Hee accepted to cost of arriving at her soon. Ji-Ah wished to know if Atticus would die like she had seen.
