Hulu’s Books of Blood Trailer: All Stories End Here
has released the state Books of Blood trailer for Brannon Braga’s upcoming film adaptation of Clive Barker’s classic horror anthology novel series. On Wednesday premiering, October 7, the film follows a journey into uncharted territory through three tales tangled with time and space. You can examine out the trailer in the ball player below now!
Consisting of six books published between 1984-85, the anthology which mostly covered the horror genre with the casual fantasy element mixed in, received rave reviews from readers and critics alike, with legend Stephen King calling Barker the “future of horror.” A few of the film’s individual stories have already been adapted for the big and small screen already, “The Forbidden namely,” which became the cult classic Candyman, and The Midnight Meat Train.
Braga is defined to co-write, executive produce and direct in his feature debut with The Girlfriend Experience‘s Anna Friel, Under the Dome‘s Britt Robertson, Godfather of Harlem‘s Rafi Gavron, and Russian Doll‘s Yul Vazquez all signed to star in the film. Adam Simon, co-creator of WGN’s Salem, is mounted on co-write the project also, that will blend together three tales from the written books within an overarching narrative that also features original material.
Friel is mounted on play Mary, an excellent psychologist who has gained fame as a skeptic debunking theories and beliefs not located in science who’s struggling with the increased loss of her 7-year-old son to leukemia and contains a big change of heart when her new lover Simon convinces her he is able to speak her dead son. Robertson is attached as Jenna, a hypersensitive girl who is suffering from “misphonia,” an abhorrence of sound, and sets out for LA when she learns her mother is approximately to send her back again to the “Farm.”
Gavron shall star as Simon, a charismatic son who begins a relationship with Mary and convinces her he could be a ghost whisperer and will speak on her behalf dead son. Vazquez shall portray Bennett, a specialist killer whose latest target tells him of a priceless book which will allow him and his wife to retire, and then run into supernatural threats in his journey for the written book.
