Every, The Last folks fans joined Naughty Dog in celebrating an unbelievable PlayStation experience. Year this, however, an integral change has been made to the real name of the annual celebration in light of COVID-19.
Previously, day given the type of infection within the overall game universe itself this date was secured as Outbreak. With the amount of deaths because of COVID-19 on a worldwide scale with many areas still definately not the idea of containment, the united team at Naughty Dog wished to create a change out of respect.
No longer called Outbreak, september 26 from here on out will undoubtedly be called THE FINAL folks Day every. Short, sweet, to the true point. No confusion on the overall game being celebrated, no correlation to real-life events which are currently happening still.
Naughty Dog took to Twitter to relay the noticeable change, saying that because of the nature of the year’s events and the ongoing issues surrounding COVID-19, they “didn’t feel right continuing on beneath the Outbreak Day banner.”
The ongoing company added, “As the name and the date are rooted in the fiction of the overall game, September 26 means a lot more than lore. It’s about showing our appreciation to your fans.”
Previous years celebrating the final folks franchise included sales on merch, game discounts, fan tributes, therefore much more. This season, Naughty Dog is celebrating the launch of THE FINAL folks Part II and teases “plenty of exciting things planned and we can not wait to talk about them with you in a few days.”
