New Thor: Love And Thunder Trailer Features Christian Bale’s Gorr The God Butcher And He Looks Metal

Marvel Studios has released a new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer that runs more than two minutes long and features a ton of new footage, especially compared to the teaser trailer released last month.  The new trailer features extended looks at scenes from the teaser, like when Thor realizes Jane Foster is back and now wielding Mjolnir. It also contains new footage of Korg, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the villain of Taika Waititi’s latest Thor film, Gorr the God Butcher. For comic fans, one look at Christian Bale’s Gorr, and it’s immediately apparent that this is a very different take. Gorr is typically more alien-looking but still humanoid. Bale’s Gorr looks very much like a human, and it’s not surprising because if you’re going to hire someone like Bale to play a villain, why not squeeze out as much as you can by reminding folks that this is Bale.  However, regardless of where you fall on “he’s too human” or “I like it,” it’s hard to disagree that Bale’s Gorr is appropriately metal. Right off the bat, Gorr the God Butcher is an incredible title to hold if you’re a villain. Couple that with his first announcement – that all gods need to die, including Thor – and his design, which features black-tipped fingers, a planet-shattering weapon, and a black liquid that runs out of his mouth, and Gorr might be the most metal MCU villain yet.    For more, watch the first Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer and then listen to this episode of From Panel To Podcast, which is Game Informer’s comic book podcast, to hear us talk about Thor: Love and Thunder.  What did you think of this trailer? Exclusive: Jai Courtney teases team dynamic in The Suicide Squad

While communicating with the 34-year-old star for his villainous submit the Liam Neeson-led action thriller Honest Thief, got the chance to speak to Jai Courtney concerning the highly-anticipated The Suicide Squad and discuss the brand new team dynamic in the James Gunn written-and-directed action pic!

Despite getting the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker dominate the reins from original writer/director David Ayer (The Tax Collector), Courtney notes there wasn’t a lot of another mindset getting into his return because the infamous Flash villain.

“Probably because there is so much that were established already and I believe James knew that to arrive, though he’s doing their own thing with the film even,” Courtney explained. “I don’t feel just like anyone felt the necessity to abandon what we’d sort of already established, but he’s exactly the same guy definitely, he’s not just a different Boomerang dramatically. It’s that the backdrop is really a little different and there’s a big pile more folks, so it’s likely to have its feeling and flavor about any of it, but folks are likely to have as much fun with it and we’d an enjoyable experience rendering it.”

While joking he doesn’t believe “Captain Boomerang will ever learn to play nice with others” and which makes up for “section of his charm” and his status as a “liability” for the team, Courtney does express that you will see a fresh team dynamic getting into the soft reboot-quel, but stating it’s a “natural” thing for continuing franchises.

I don’t think anyone was disappointed or even more excited, they sort of understand that the dynamic would be considered a bit different with the crew regardless of the case, but I got eventually to meet some amazing talent that I hadn’t worked before and you can find more and more people in this that just kill it and do a truly fantastic job and also have lots of fun. It’s cool, I’m pumped for this and I am hoping it’s an enormous success.”

cast includes: John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Joel Kinnaman, Maylin Ng, Flula Borg, Juan Deigo Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Brage, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, and Margot Robbie.
