The Guilty: Netflix Acquires Jake Gyllenhaal & Antoine Fuqua Thriller Film
Netflix has reportedly acquired worldwide rights to the upcoming thriller film The Guilty in a $30 million deal, in accordance with . The movie reunites Southpaw’s Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), with Gyllenhaal set to star and Fuqua directing. The movie is founded on the Danish drama Den Skyldige directed by Gustav Moller.
occurs during the period of an individual morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save lots of a caller in grave danger – but he soon discovers that there is nothing at it appears, and facing the reality out may be the only way.
The screenplay is compiled by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective). Gyllenhaal will produce together with his Nine Stories partner Riva Marker along with Fuqua through his Fuqua Films. Producers include Scott Greenberg also, Michel Litvak, and Gary Michael Walters for Bold Films. Annie Marter, Gustav Moller, and Lina Flint will executive produce.
Bold Films is financing the feature while Endeavor Content handles worldwide sales. The Guilty is likely to begin shooting in November within a location in LA. The production reportedly secured COVID-19 insurance and can follow rigorous safety and sanitation protocols.
