Destiny 2: Beyond Light is nearly here and Season of Arrivals is arriving at a detailed. As Bungie preps the web game for a bunch of new content, you can find tweaks having to be made for several activities within the existing game. With major tech tweaks in the ongoing works, among the aspects being affected may be the extremely popular Prophecy Dungeon temporarily.
In a recently available Bungie post, Destiny engineering director David Aldridge exposed a bit about a few of the tech upgrades which will be causing a temporary disturbance in what players can and cannot partake in. The team is shifting its mission scripting model to perform on the Physics Host rather than the current Mission Host, that you can find out more about the difference here. The entire goal behind this change for the devs in order to create more “novel mission mechanics” with full usage of the overall game state versus the limited options supplied by the Mission Host.
This new change is rolling out with Beyond Light, however the change isn’t as easy as pushing a button. Bungie, in a move of transparency, mentioned that it’s possible that roll out includes bugs initially as the behavioral changes adapt to the brand new host. In accordance with Aldridge:
“The brand new scripting environment changed many behaviors in complex ways, and you’ll see interesting behavior changes or bugs in pre-Beyond-Light missions (and public events, and similar) which were originally built and tested on the prior system. We’ve tested these missions heavily and stamped out many bugs, however, many will slip through undoubtedly. We’ll be monitoring and fixing remaining bugs as time passes. In some full cases, these presssing issues were more serious – for instance, they caused the Prophecy dungeon to temporarily be unavailable. We’re all excited because of its triumphant return, of the year slated for the finish!”
Another addition to the is that players is now able to fireteam it up in the Tower versus needing to cycle by way of a long Tower reload. That could sound small, but being an avid Destiny player I’m actually looking towards this a lot. Currently, even though you’re on the tower together with your friend in exactly the same server, it boots you back again to space still. Having the ability to link up more seamlessly will probably be a good little adjustement over time.
That being said, this change will probably mean several in-game aspects should be adjusted in anticipation of these bugs. Among those activities may be the Prophecy Dungeon, that is honestly probably the most gorgeous dungeon created so far (if you ask me). Never to worry though, back this season it’ll be. In a follow-up Reddit post, Of December bungie confirmed Prophecy will undoubtedly be back prior to the end. Up to now, the city has been very knowledge of this decision and so are glad the removal isn’t permanent.
For now, Guardians can anticipate the street ahead when Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches on November 10.
