According to Deadline, Brendan Hines (The Tick) has joined Netflix’s Locke & Key as a series regular for the second season of Joe Hill’s hit supernatural drama that recently began production in Toronto. In Locke & Key, after their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. From Carlton Cuse (LostBates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), the series is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.

Hines will portray Josh Bennett, a charismatic and mysterious new history teacher at Matheson Academy with a secret agenda. Ashmore plays Duncan Locke, a Locke family member with a history with the keys who helps guide the Lockes in their battle against Dodge.
