Quake Receives A Fresh Update With Machine Games Providing A New Horde Mode

Quake, which was re-released for modern consoles and PC back in August, is receiving even more love from the devs at Bethesda and Wolfenstein developer Machine Games with a new mode and content added with Update 2. Out today on all platforms, Update 2 brings a host of big fixes, but most importantly, an entirely new Horde Mode. Developed by the team at Machine Games, Quakes Horde Mode pits teams of 1-4 local or online players (or bots!) against swarms of AI enemies on four brand new horde maps. Every third wave of baddies will include a boss which coughs up a silver key which can be cashed in to collect more weapons and items, bolstering your arsenal for further battles. It's a new Quake experience authored by senior level designer Christian Grawer from Machine Games. Quake is making its Epic Games Store debut today, as well. Pick it up there if EGS is your PC game launcher of choice. You can find the full contents of Update 2 here.  Are you going to squad up with friends and take on rounds of devious Quake hordes? Sonic The Hedgehog Skin Is Coming To Fall Guys

Sonic the Hedgehog skins are coming to Fall Guys for those jelly beans that ‘gotta go fast.’ First leaked last week, Mediatonic has confirmed that the Sonic skins are real thanks to today’s Sega-themed live stream.

The Sonic skin is coming to Fall Guys on October 14, fully equipped with those iconic red shoes and white gloves. While not an exact replica, obviously, this is only the latest crossover that in-game jelly beans have seen, and it surely won’t be the last.

For those that want to live out that blue fantasy, you’re going to need some Crowns under your belt. Whether earned through natural progression in the game or through wins, this adorable Sonic rendition will cost a total of 10 Crowns.

From Half-Life to Portal, the crossovers will continue. It will be interesting to see where else Mediatonic takes the Fall Guys game, especially considering how quickly it skyrocketed in fame and the new season’s arrival.

Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC. While an Xbox and Nintendo Switch version could be coming down the line, the studio has mentioned in the past that it doesn’t want to pull focus from making the current launch the best it can be. Once the studio is satisfied with Fall Guys’ growth, then it will consider expanding that platform horizon a bit.

What do you th ink about the Sonic the Hedgehog skins coming to Fall Guys? What other game collaboration would you like to see next? Should out those hopes and dreams in the comment section below! I think we all know which crossover I’d personally like to see …
