“There is something so perfectly analog about the world Vince Gilligan created for his characters in the Breaking Bad universe – so when the opportunity to premiere the exclusive release of the soundtrack to El Camino was presented to us, it felt almost as perfect as when we first heard that Vince had created an entire feature length epilogue to the greatest television show of all time… in secret!” Mo Shafeek, Mondo Creative Director of Music, said in a statement. “Dave Porter’s score is haunting and tense, and the needle-drops are simultaneously perfect peeks into the heads of the complex characters of Vince’s expanded universe, and incredibly insightful, deep-cut slices of the American music landscape.”
With a thrilling, pulse-pounding score by Dave Porter, and nearly a dozen songs from the movie, this limited edition vinyl release is essential listening for fans of Vince Gilligan’s expanded crime saga.
“Oh man, how exciting. The soundtrack to my first movie gets the kid-glove treatment by Mondo, one of the world’s coolest record companies,” Breaking Bad series creator and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie writer and director Vince Gilligan, said in a statement. “The great Matt Talbot provides the album art. And since the musical brilliance and stellar taste of Dave Porter and Thomas Golubić cannot be contained within one mere flat circle of vinyl… they’ve made it a TWO-LP SET! Here’s hoping “groovy” is due for a comeback — because I can’t think of a better word to describe this.”
