City of Lies Teaser Trailer Starring Johnny Depp & Forest Whitaker
Saban Films has released the state City of Lies teaser trailer starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker. The biographical crime drama is founded on the book LAbyrinth by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Randall Sullivan. The investigation is accompanied by the movie in to the murder of iconic rap artist Christopher Wallace, aka the Notorious B.I.G. In September 1996, Tupac Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting in NEVADA. In March 1997, the Notorious B.I.G. was shot after an awards show in LA similarly. Neither crime has been solved. Sullivan’s book received critical acclaim and prompted two lawsuits contrary to the LAPD, sparked an FBI investigation, and is still the definitive story of two of the very most infamous unsolved murderers in hiphop history.

Oscar nominee Johnny Depp ( Sweeney Todd , Finding Neverland , Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) stars as determined LAPD detective Russell Poole, who spent twenty years attempting to solve the murder nearly, and Oscar and Primetime Emmy winner Forest Whitaker ( THE FINAL King of Scotland , Godfather of Harlem , Lee Daniels’ The Butler ) as Jack Jackson, a journalist who teams up with Poole searching for the elusive truth. Together they explore why the case remains cold – and just why a secret division of the LAPD is seemingly set on keeping it this way.

City of Lies is made by Miriam Segal, Paul Brennan, and Stuart Manashi. Co-producers include Paula Jess and Turnbull Fuerst. The movie will release only in theaters on March 19 and on Digital and On Demand on April 9.
