Spielberg developing & directing semi-autobiopic, Williams in foretells star
While still awaiting the release of his big-screen adaptation of the hit musical West Side Story , Steven Spielberg is eyeing his next project by means of a semi-autobiographical drama where he’ll co-write and direct at his film studio Amblin Partners, in accordance with Deadline.

The film, which Spielberg is co-writing with frequent collaborator Tony Kushner, will undoubtedly be loosely inspired by the three-time Oscar winner’s childhood growing up in Arizona. Sources report that four-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams happens to be in early negotiations to star in an integral role inspired by Spielberg’s mother though will include a separate and original voice.
The untitled project has been around the ongoing works for over twenty years, with Spielberg having been urged by director and  first; Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind star Francois Truffaut to produce a film about his childhood with frequent collaborators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis ( Back again to the near future ), which began being an R-rated film about 12-year-olds entitled  first; After School going right through a great many other titles including  before; Growing Up and I’ll Be Home , the latter which saw its script compiled by his sister Anne Spielberg. Anne is most beneficial known on her behalf work penning the script for the Tom Hanks-starring Big along with an bout of the initial run of her brothers’ anthology series Amazing Stories .
The film may also mark the 1st time in twenty years that the filmmaker acts as both writer and director on the project, along with his previous writing credit being on the sci-fi blockbuster A.I. Artificial Intelligence in 2001, that was a passion project for Spielberg after being handed the project by Stanley Kubrick.

Sources report that casting will start for children at multiple age levels now, among whom will land the highly-coveted role of the Jurassic Park and E.T. helmer, with production currently slated to do this summer in the hopes of earning a 2022 release.
