Recently, we notified players that PlayStation Store for PS and PS3 Vita devices was planned to get rid of this summer.
Upon further reflection, however, it’s clear that people made the incorrect decision here. Today I’m pleased to say that people will undoubtedly be keeping the PlayStation Store operational for  so; PS and ps3 Vita devices. PSP commerce functionality shall retire on July 2, 2021 as planned.
Whenever we initially found the decision to get rid of purchasing support for PS3 and PS Vita, it had been born out of a genuine amount of factors, including commerce support challenges for older devices and the power for us to target more of our resources on newer devices in which a most our gamers are playing on. We see given that many of you’re incredibly passionate about having the ability to continue purchasing classic games on PS3 and PS Vita for the near future, so I’m glad we could actually find a treatment for continue operations.
I’m glad that people will keep this little bit of our history alive for gamers to take pleasure from, while we continue steadily to create cutting-edge new game worlds for PS4, PS5, and another generation of VR.
Many thanks for sharing your feedback around – we’re always listening and appreciate the support from our PlayStation community.
