Hello, Folks of the Fog! Whether you’re a fan of Resident Evil, Dead by Daylight, or both, there’s too much to look to nowadays forward.
We’re thrilled to honor 25 years of game-changing survival horror by welcoming Resident Evil in to the Fog with this latest Chapter. While we’d want to get into greater detail about our legendary new Survivors, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine… they’ll need to wait for a later date.
Today is focused on Nemesis and his playground: our new map of the iconic Raccoon City police station.
Dig in below for more information about our massive new map and the brand new Killer’s deadly Power, Perks, and a particular Enemy before observed in Dead by Daylight never.

The Raccoon City Police Station
The Raccoon City police station stands among the series’ most well-known locations and is featured heavily in both Resident Evil 2 and 3. Sprawling and dripping with atmosphere, the initial setting created an ideal challenge for the Level Design team to sink their teeth into.
“If you’ve played the Resident Evil series, you might understand that the Raccoon City police station was a museum originally. From the architecture to the creative art pieces are gorgeous,” shares Stéphanie Hellin, Dead by Daylight’s Team Lead Level Artist. “It has its flavor and mood that permeates the complete map and really shapes your experience playing the overall game.”
If you’re a Dead by Daylight veteran and also have been hungry to dive right into a new map, you’ll be pleased to know the Raccoon City police station should keep you busy for some time ahead.
“That is by far the largest map we’ve ever introduced into Dead by Daylight,” says Stéphanie. “It had been challenging with enough time we had to generate it specifically. As the setting is huge, each available room has its look and feels making the map better to navigate. We can’t wait to observe how players adjust to this sort of layout and how both Killers and Survivors approach its opportunities and challenges.”
While fans can get a faithful recreation of the Raccoon City police station, they could also expect several special twists to greatly help merge the planet of Resident Evil with Dead by Daylight’s gameplay and storytelling.
“Our challenge was to make certain that both these worlds not merely fit together, but complemented one another,” continues Stéphanie. “We had a need to bring the essence of both games in a single map together. Dead by Daylight’s gameplay is quite hide-and-seek, therefore we had to generate more exits, entrances, and adapt a number of the spaces and level-art composition while staying true to the foundation still.”
In Dead by Daylight, Survivors like Jill and Leon may also find themselves coping with a completely new evil: The Entity.
“The Entity may be the essence of Dead by Daylight,” adds Stéphanie. “Our partnership with Capcom gave us the chance to really have the Entity be a lot more within our map. It feeds off hatred, sufficient reason for these worlds combined it’s hungrier than ever before. The Entity sometimes appears inside our game, but here it surrounds you in the map at nearly every turn – an ideal representation of the nightmare you’ll reach experience.”
New Killer: Nemesis
Given that you’re up to date on our new map, let’s breakdown the brand new Killer who’ll be stalking its hallways: the Nemesis.
Nemesis Power: T-Virus
The brand new Killer’s power may be the T-Virus, which in turn causes extreme mutations and will be used in others. Its effects heighten aggression and strength within the Nemesis.
Special Attack: Tentacle Strike
Tentacles certainly are a Tyrant’s companion.
Tentacle Strike works to greatly help boost Nemesis’ strength and range because the Survivors he’s hunting are weakened. Replenish, then unleash Tentacle Strike on a Survivor to afflict them with the Contaminated status effect. Contaminating they’ll be created by a Survivor simpler to spot because they cough and vomit their way round the map. Hit a contaminated Survivor another time and you’ll damage their health.
Survivors could cure themselves and their allies by injecting a vaccine within Supply Cases (not Chests!) round the map. But utilize them wisely. Vaccines are limited and the Survivor’s is revealed by every injection location for a short time.
Mutation Rate
Hitting a Survivor with Tentacle Strike not merely contaminates them, nonetheless it increases Nemesis’s Mutation Rate aswell. Tentacle Strike shall gain greater range and the capability to destroy certain elements within the surroundings.
At Mutation Rate 2, a Tentacle Strike can destroy palettes and breakable walls even.
At Mutation Rate 3, the Tentacle Strike range shall increase allowing him to attack over palettes, window vaults, along with other tricky obstacles.
Check your power icon to see your present Mutation Rate.
Special Enemy: Zombies
That’s right. Zombies. For the very first time in Dead by Daylight history, a Killer will be assisted by AI characters.
Once you play as Nemesis zombies will spawn and commence roaming the map. Zombie attacks work exactly the same way as Tentacle Strikes. In case a Survivor gets hit by way of a zombie, they’re suffering from the Contaminated status. Should they get hit while contaminated again, they take damage.
Survivors can destroy zombies by dropping palettes in it, so when Nemesis it is possible to boost your Mutation Rate by destroying them with a Tentacle Strike. Zombies will respawn following a small amount of time always.
Nemesis Perk: Lethal Pursuer
Nemesis was created for the sole reason for searching for and destroying its targets. So in the beginning of each trial naturally, all Survivor auras will be revealed for you for a short while. The perfect solution to get yourself a relative head start.

Nemesis Perk: Hysteria

Make a good example out of any Survivor who crosses your way. Once you put a wholesome Survivor in the injured state with a particular or basic attack, all the injured Survivors on the map shall have problems with the Oblivious status effect for a short while.
Nemesis Perk: Eruption
As Nemesis, you don’t have the brawn – you have the brains just, too.
Kick a generator and its own aura will be highlighted in yellow. The trap is defined now. Put any Survivor in the Dying State and all affected generators shall explode, reducing their progress. Any Survivor repairing an affected generator when it explodes are affected from the Incapacitated status effect for a short while.
As huge fans ourselves, we couldn’t be happier to create the planet of Resident Evil into Dead by Daylight and we can’t wait to place these new characters and map into the hands. Do you want to lead your team of Survivors to safety as Jill or Leon? Or do you want to end up being the Entity’s new favorite Killer as Nemesis?
