    Issa Rae to Voice Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman in Into the Spider-Verse Sequel

    The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Emmy nominee Issa Rae ( Insecure ) will voice Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, in Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Spider-Man: In to the Spider-Verse sequel. The script is co-written by Lord, Miller, and David Callaham ( Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ) and contains a release date of October 7, 2022.

    Rae will join Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld in the animated comic book sequel, that are reprising their roles as Miles Gwen and Morales/Spider-Man Stacy/Spider-Gwen, respectively. Plot details are increasingly being kept under wraps but will reportedly feature multiple Spider-powered characters “across Marvel Comics’ time and April that Joaquim Dos Santos ”

    It had been announced, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson shall serve because the film’s trio of directors.

    Lord, Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg are time for produce the Sony Pictures project, with Alonzo Ruvalcaba co-producing. The original  Spider-Verse  director Peter Ramsey will executive produce, alongside Aditya Sood.

    The 2018 Spider-Man: In to the Spider-Verse film follows teen Miles Morales who becomes the Spider-Man of his universe and must join with five spider-powered people from other dimensions to avoid a threat for several realities. The movie won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and grossed $375.5 million at the global box office.
