When Axiom Verge launched in 2015, it quickly became probably the most talked and beloved about independent games of the generation. Tom Happ again is back, with Axiom Verge 2 set to launch come early july and land on PlayStation consoles.

The 2D pixel art Metroidvania title took the gaming world by storm in 2015, using its incredible art multitude and design of weaponry and places to explore rendering it a smash hit. In a recently available PlayStation Post, Happ spoke about how exactly the people at Sony were so instrumental in obtaining the word out concerning the first game, he felt he owed it in their mind to create the sequel to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
In accordance with Happ, Axiom Verge 2 will launch on PlayStation 4 day one, but a PS5 version of the overall game may be coming a little later, as Happ said he’s hoping to make use of the system’s capability to give players in-game hints.

Right now, no official release date has been announced, but Happ did say that the overall game will be ready come early july sometime. For the time being, fans can head to the PlayStation Blog to look at some development updates and brief clips of the overall game running.
