Variety reports that Showtime is currently working on a series version of the 1997 sci-fi movie Gattaca from Sony Pictures. Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, the makers of Homeland, are behind the project.
Gansa, Gordon, and Craig Borten will be the showrunners and executive producers of the Gattaca show. Sony Pictures Television is already working on the project for Showtime. The plot and characters of the film are still being kept a secret.

Gattaca was well-received by critics despite turning into a box office disappointment with over$ 12 million in domestic sales compared to its reported budget of$ 36 million.
