We looked at a few different concepts for the kinds of stories we may tell in prelude comics when we first sat down with the Marvel company. But we kept returning to the same basic idea: What if Peter, Miles, and MJ had to face off against a brand-new Super Villain with power they couldn’t fathom? We also wanted to be able to learn more about what this brave group has been up to since Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales events. Now that there are two Spider-Men in the neighborhood, what is Pete doing? How is Miles faring academically? How is MJ’s media work progressing, by the way?
In this tale, Peter, Miles, and MJ struggle to strike a balance between their obligations to the city and one another as their life collide. They frequently return to one of the comic’s central themes: Is special true? Because in this action-packed issue, a precious Super Villain makes their initial appearance in our world and appears to possess supernatural powers that defy simple spiders and hands: none other than The Hood!
We worked with the pros, Writer Christos Gage( who was also one of the authors on Marvel’s Spider-Man ), and Artist Ig Guara, to find the answers to these questions. in honor of the day of independent comic books.
