Greetings, PlayStation! We are here, Panic! Publishers of the future Nour: Play With Your Foods, Unnamed Goose Game, and Firewatch. Starting with Despelote, which will launch on the PS5 in 2024, we have a genuine bevy of future PlayStation game news to share. Additionally, the activity will be included in Tribeca’s 2023 Festival Selection, which we are extremely grateful for.
Despelote is a lovely slice-of-life story about youth and the enchanted power that sport had over Quito, Ecuador, residents in 2001. The work of its creators, Julián Cordero and # 038, Sebastian Valbuena, immediately transported us after their initial pitch. As a semi-autobiographical account of Julián’s early years, it manages to feel common in many ways as you wander the streets of Quito, getting involved in mischief, and taking in the local culture while even feeling profoundly true to the time and place in question. & nbsp,
Despelote’s gameplay heavily relies on many of the verbs you might associate with soccer and # 8211, including dribbling, passing, and kicking( all of which feel fantastic from a first-person perspective )! &# 8211, but it’s also used for affecting storytelling and a variety of playful, funny relationships as you explore the city, as well as swept up in the fire of the first World Cup qualifying run for Ecuador.
The game has a very specific look and # 8211, which was partly influenced by reference photos and actual materials that were captured on-site in Quito, as you can see from the trailer. This is also true of the sound, which Julián and Sebastian used to make the game’s soundscape by recording actual conversations and urban settings. The sport is properly fully voiced in Spanish, with localized subtitles based on your preferences.
We believe you’ll find something unique in Despelote when it debuts on the PS5 in 2024, regardless of your level of casual soccer fandom, enjoyment of immersing yourself in different cultures, or simply a love for fine storytelling. Thank you for reading, and Panic and Despelote have much more to say quickly.
